El Triunfo

The name "El Triunfo" was given after a group of miners discovered silver in the area in the 18th century. This attracted a large number of adventurers seeking their fortune.

Thanks to the discovery of large deposits, the mine in the area quickly became one of the most productive settlements for this mineral in Mexico. During its heyday, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the population of El Triunfo, initially solely a mining area, grew to 10,000 inhabitants. 

However, over the years, mining activity in El Triunfo declined and eventually ceased altogether in the 1950s.
